Our impact
Building on a successful track record spanning over 4 decades, we continue to support scientific research that advances our understanding of the specific developmental and learning difficulties experienced by children with Down syndrome
- We are the only nonprofit dedicated to advancing scientific research and translating advances into practical, evidence-based advice and support for families and professionals worldwide
- Since the early 1980s, we have pioneered new approaches to supporting speech, language, reading and numeracy development for children with Down syndrome – approaches that are now widely adopted around the world
- We led the first (and, so far, only) large-scale randomised trial of an educational intervention designed for children with Down syndrome
- Our resources, apps, online services and research help over 20,000 people in over 90 countries every year by providing them with accurate, up-to-date and evidence-based information and advice, and practical teaching strategies
