DSE offers a range of training services, including online courses, accessible on-demand to parents and educators worldwide. Our training services offer information and guidance consistent with the latest research evidence and extensive practical experience.
Developed and led by Professor Sue Buckley OBE - a recognised leader in education research for children with Down syndrome - our courses are rigorously grounded in the scientific understanding of the learning needs of children with Down syndrome. At the same time our services are firmly focused on practical advice designed to improve outcomes for children with Down syndrome at home and in the classroom.
Our online courses offer convenient access to up-to-date information and practical guidance for parents, teachers and therapists supporting children with Down syndrome.
Each course includes a series of modules, each of which includes a video presentation, handouts and an assessment. The video presentations can be viewed, handouts downloaded and assessments completed at any time.
In addition, course participants are invited to join a discussion forum with DSE tutors for the opportunity to ask questions and seek additional advice.
Workshops and conferences
DSE can provide training services at locations around the world. We have a growing network of accredited trainers who - together with DSE staff and consultants - regularly work with public service providers, and local, national and regional Down syndrome organisations to provide a range of bespoke workshops and conferences.
