New online support for managing behavior difficulties
We are pleased to announce the launch of our sixth online course. This course is designed to help parents and professionals to implement effective strategies to change problem behaviors.
Some children and teenagers with Down syndrome develop behaviors that can disrupt their learning and social opportunities and that cause challenges and stress at school and at home. Problem behaviors can be changed but may need different approaches to those that work with other children. This course aims to support parents and educators to implement individualized plans to improve behavior and to secure new positive behaviors.
The course was developed and is led online by Professor Sue Buckley OBE. Commenting on the launch of the course, Sue said:
Commenting on the course, Sue said:
" It is important that parents and teachers know that difficult behavior is not inevitable just because a young person has Down syndrome and that we have effective strategies to help them change the situation. We also know that parents and teachers need support to develop a new strategy and stick to it - and this course offers that ongoing expert support ."
The course includes 5 modules, each of which includes a video presentation, handouts and an assessment. The video presentations can be viewed, handouts downloaded and assessments completed at any time.
Participants are provided with 12 months access to the course and online advice and support to help them plan and implement successful behavior change strategies.
Prices for 12 months access start at £100/$140 for parents and £150/$200 for professionals (plus sales taxes where applicable).
